Musk segi ósatt um Starlink

Elon Musk has alleged that Ukrainian forces used the commercial Starlink satellite network to conduct drone attacks, a claim that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has denied. On 24 October 2026, Musk said that Ukraine had violated Starlink’s terms of service by employing the system for military drone operations. He suggested that the Ukrainian military had used the public Starlink network rather than the military‑grade Starshield service. Serhii Sternenko, an adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence, rejected Musk’s allegations. “The use of the general Starlink network for drone operations was technically impossible,” Sternenko said. “Drones that required a virtual‑ground‑station link while in flight had to be connected to Starshield, which is under U.S. control.” Sternenko explained that since February, Ukraine had been using a list of authorised Starlink stations. While the general network could be logged on to, a virtual‑ground‑station required a separate registration and connection to Starshield. “All drone operations that required a virtual‑ground‑station link were therefore conducted through Starshield,” he added. The Ukrainian military said that restrictions imposed on 14 October had caused drones to lose contact when their receivers exceeded a certain speed. The restrictions were reportedly triggered when the receivers reached a speed of 160 km h⁻¹, causing the drones to lose connectivity. The military has said that the restrictions were a result of the U.S. imposing limits on the use of Starlink for Ukrainian forces. The U.S. government has reportedly warned that it could cut support to Ukraine if the country stopped attacking oil infrastructure in Russia. The Ukrainian defence ministry has said that the restrictions were lifted after the U.S. reaffirmed its support for Ukraine. Musk’s claim that Ukraine had used the public Starlink network for drone attacks remains unverified. The Ukrainian defence ministry maintains that all military drone operations were conducted through the Starshield system.
