Amelia Hernandez, a woman who was tragically shot along with her husband at a playground in Couva two weeks ago, had been repeatedly warned about her partner by her mother, Pamela Clarke. Clarke disapproved of the relationship with Devaughn Toussaint, expressing her concerns to her daughter, albeit in vain. On the fateful afternoon, when assailants targeted Toussaint in Jade Court, Lisas Gardens, Hernandez was also killed while desperately trying to flee with their young daughter. Clarke shared her discontent and worry about Toussaint with the Express in a recent phone interview, revealing that she had never wanted him around and had heard unsettling things about him.
