Mother Shot and Killed in Montrose Identified

38-year-old Avanelle Abraham, a mother of one, was identified as the woman shot and killed in Montrose at Maraj Street. She is believed to have been thrown from a vehicle before being shot in the head. Described by relatives as a loving and ambitious woman, her autopsy confirmed death by a gunshot wound. Police suspect she was killed by an acquaintance. Residents reported hearing a gunshot around 5 p.m. and saw a silver vehicle speeding away. A resident confirmed seeing blood from her head and called the police. The neighbourhood, noted for its peace and proximity to the Allied Security’s headquarters, has not witnessed violent crime in the past. However, the resident expressed concern over the increasing incidence of violent crime in Central Trinidad.
