MORE THAN Hype & Laughs: MAJAH HYPE’S has SEVEN HIDDEN TALENTS

Behind the comedy is a serious musician. Majah Hype is proof that nurturing multiple gifts can keep you from becoming a one-trick pony.

Speaking on the Corie Shepherd Podcast, Majah Hype revealed that his musical journey began at age eight, long before his rise to fame as a comedian.

Long before he was making audiences laugh, Caribbean comedian Majah Hype was making music, revealing that he plays seven instruments and has been developing his musical talents since the age of eight.

His musical arsenal includes the alto saxophone, clarinet, trombone, trumpet, piano, drums and guitar, with the saxophone remaining his primary instrument.

Hype credits his grandfather, a bandleader, for nurturing his gifts and exposing him to different musical genres. As a child, he would perform trombone solos at his grandfather’s New Year’s Eve events, sometimes waiting until 2 or 3 a.m. for his moment onstage.

Those early performances helped shape the entertainer who would later become a DJ and comedian.

The bigger lesson? Never allow one successful talent to bury your other gifts.

Majah Hype’s story is a reminder that versatility is an asset. Nurture your gifts, develop your range and never become a one-trick pony.

Sometimes the talent people celebrate is only one part of what you can do.
