The body of a 17-year-old girl who had been reported missing was discovered in a quarry in the Kajuwatta area of Mahawalathenna, Balangoda, police confirmed.
The teenager, a resident of Mahawalathenna, had been missing since July 23. Her father lodged a complaint with the Balangoda Police following her disappearance.
Police said the body was found in the quarry, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of death. Authorities have not released further details pending inquiries.
