The body of Akeem Gomez, a 26-year-old man from Maraval who had been missing, was discovered in a decomposing state inside a black Subaru parked at an unfinished house in Cunupia on September 18th, 2025. Police said the vehicle was located on Chin Chin Road near Kernahan Trace and the body was found on the backseat of the unlocked car. While no visible signs of violence were initially detected, the District Medical Officer ordered an autopsy at the Forensic Sciences Centre to determine the cause of death. Gomez was last seen alive two days prior to the discovery. The investigation is still ongoing.
