In a perplexing case of suspected larceny, police in the Longdenville district are investigating the disappearance of over 700 gallons of diesel fuel from a transport truck belonging to a local businessman. The incident came to light when O.B. Maharaj Transport’s 78-year-old owner reported that the fuel, valued at more than $14,000, was missing. On Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, the businessman instructed his employee, Quincy Manuel, to offload 1,000 gallons of diesel at the company’s compound. However, Manuel allegedly failed to follow through and instead left the site, reportedly heading towards the Unipet compound in Freeport. Hours later, the owner received a call from Manuel stating that the truck had stalled and needed repairs at a nearby garage. Upon inspection, the owner discovered that while the truck was indeed stalled, it contained only 285 gallons of diesel, leaving 715 gallons unaccounted for. The case is currently under investigation by PC Singh from the Longdenville Police Station, as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the missing fuel.
