In a recent statement, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Eli Zakour expressed pride in the Public Transportation Service Corporation’s (PTSC) performance during the maxi-taxi protests. Speaking at City Gate on June 2, 2026, Zakour noted that passengers indicated a newfound preference for PTSC buses over the traditional maxi-taxis.
The Minister’s remarks came after he personally engaged with the public, inquiring about their transportation choices. Many passengers reported a shift towards utilizing the bus services, with Zakour stating that he was ‘very, very proud’ to hear this positive feedback.
Zakour reiterated that the government is actively working on plans to enhance the quality and reliability of public transportation in response to community needs. The commendation of PTSC’s management and staff highlights a moment of success amidst recent transportation challenges.
