Despite these issues, Carnival 2026 is still viewed as a national priority. Benjamin emphasized the need for efficiency, stating there should be “no wastage, no delays, and no excuses.” She instructed the Board to undertake immediate financial assessments, act on audit recommendations, and create payment plans for any outstanding debts from Carnival 2025. A significant Board meeting is set for July 30, 2025, where the focus will be on operational strategies and solidifying the timeline for Carnival 2026. The Ministry is dedicated to restoring accountability and ensuring a successful celebration of Trinidad and Tobago’s rich cultural heritage.
