Minister Alexander Defends Trinidad and Tobago Police Amid Integrity Concerns

In a decisive show of support, Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander has backed the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) officers, urging them to stand firm in their duties amidst growing public scrutiny about their integrity. Speaking during a recent address, Alexander acknowledged the current challenges facing the police force, emphasizing the vital role officers play in maintaining national security.

Minister Alexander’s remarks come at a time when the TTPS is under intense public examination, with questions about law enforcement integrity dominating the national conversation. He urged police officers not to lose morale and to continue their professional responsibilities with unwavering dedication. “Integrity is not for sale,” Alexander stated emphatically, reinforcing the importance of honest service.

Furthermore, Alexander reassured the diplomatic community of the government’s unwavering commitment to safety and security within the country. “To our diplomatic community, let us reassure you, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago remains committed to your safety and security,” he expressed.

This call for steadfastness by the minister resonates against a backdrop of rising demands for greater transparency and law enforcement reforms nationwide. As debates on policing practices and accountability heat up, Alexander’s encouragement to police officers highlights the government’s stance on upholding the professional integrity of the TTPS.

The minister’s comments underscore the government’s resolution to maintain public trust in the policing system, at a time when calls for reform continue to echo throughout various sectors of society.
