Midnight Police Interception Thwarts Suspected Break-In

In the early hours of March 25, 2026, an alert from Atlantic LNG’s surveillance team led to a swift police response and the arrest of four men suspected of a security breach at an industrial compound in Point Fortin. The suspicious individuals were seen scaling a fence at the Old Beach Resort within the Heritage compound around 12:35 am.

Acting on the alert, the officers intercepted a blue minivan behaving suspiciously along the Clifton Hill Beach Road. The driver, Brandon Bernard of Point Fortin, was unable to provide a valid driver’s permit. A subsequent check revealed an expired license and multiple outstanding traffic tickets.

The situation escalated when a search of the vehicle uncovered housebreaking tools. Two hacksaws were discovered at the feet of the front-seat passenger, Christopher Augustine, while a cordless grinder and another hacksaw were found in a backpack in the rear passenger area. Both Augustine and the rear passenger, Donnel Joseph of Guapo, claimed ownership of the tools, stating they had been merely ‘liming.’

The fourth occupant, Quincy Bowen, couldn’t provide a clear reason for being in the area. All four men were arrested on suspicion of various offences, including possession of housebreaking implements and loitering. Bernard faces an additional charge for driving without a valid permit. Investigations are ongoing at the Point Fortin Police Station.
