Meta has opened its Muse Voice feature to all users in the United States, allowing real‑time voice and video calls with the company’s AI personal assistant, Muse. The feature, announced at Meta’s Connect developer conference in September, is available on mobile, web and Mac platforms. Muse Voice uses two new models—Muse Realtime Avatar and Muse Realtime Voice—to power a digital avatar that can converse with users. The avatar can be customized to appear as a human, an animal or any other character, and it uses light facial expressions and gestures that match the tone of the conversation. Meta’s director of artificial intelligence, Alexandr Wang, announced the rollout in a blog post and on X. In a demonstration video, Wang’s Muse avatar—a white dog with soft fur—suggested that he add clarifications to memes he posts on X to avoid misinterpretation of Meta’s positions. The Verge reported that the voice mode is being rolled out through the Muse app in the United States. According to TechCrunch, real‑time conversations are supported on mobile, web and Mac, with plans to extend support to Meta’s smart glasses and the upcoming Muse Charm device. Meta has also outlined a plan to release a small, Tamagotchi‑style device called Muse Charm later this year. The device would display the avatar on its screen and allow users to interact with Muse in a physical form.
