Met Éireann has issued a fresh Status Yellow high-temperature warning for nine counties, with temperatures set to hit 29 degrees Celsius. The warning, in effect from 12pm today until 8pm, follows a previous yellow warning that expired at 6am. The affected counties are Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford. Forecasters warn of potential impacts including water safety issues, heat stress, forest fires, and drought. The national forecaster expects a dry day with plenty of sunshine and top temperatures between 24 and 29 degrees, warmest in the south. Tonight will be dry and clear with lows of 14 degrees. Tomorrow will see similar conditions, with highs of 23 to 27 degrees in the Midlands, South, and East, while the north and northwest will be cooler at 17 to 22 degrees. Saturday night will bring patches of mist and fog, with overnight lows of 9 to 13 degrees. Sunday will be dry with hazy sunshine and light breezes, temperatures reaching 21 to 25 degrees in Leinster and Munster, but cooler in Connacht and Ulster at 16 to 21 degrees.
