Mayor Akeliah Glasgow-Warner Highlights Her Commitment to Serving the Community

Mayor Akeliah Glasgow-Warner has shared a heartfelt video reflecting on the values that guide her approach to public service, describing herself as a hands-on leader who believes in being present for the people she serves.

Throughout the video, Glasgow-Warner repeatedly says, “I am that mayor,” before highlighting dozens of moments that she believes define her leadership. She speaks about helping load dump trucks when workers are short-handed, visiting job sites, coordinating disaster relief efforts, supporting children and young women, delivering hampers, celebrating staff, and even officiating weddings free of charge when asked.

She also recalls spending time with residents, thanking emergency agencies, preparing gifts for schoolchildren, assisting with community events, and remaining after events to help clean up. According to the mayor, leadership is about being involved at every level and serving wherever needed.

Glasgow-Warner also says she will continue to speak out whenever she believes the people of her borough or Trinidad and Tobago are being deprived of what they deserve, adding that she will not be deterred from advocating on behalf of residents.

The video offers a personal look at the mayor’s philosophy of leadership, emphasizing community engagement, service, and a willingness to lead by example both inside and outside the office.
