According to Mario Grinman, President of the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC), the country’s mass consumption sector has experienced significant interannual declines. Grinman stated, “En el consumo masivo hay caídas interanuales del 4%, el 6% o hasta el 7%,” which translates to “In mass consumption, there are interannual declines of 4%, 6%, or up to 7%.”
Grinman attributes this decline to the sharp drop in the purchasing power of Argentinians, forcing consumers to prioritize essential expenses. This statement suggests that the economic situation in Argentina is affecting consumer behavior, with many individuals being forced to cut back on non-essential spending due to financial constraints.
