The Conseil d’État annulled a decision of the administrative tribunal that had previously blocked a planned protest march. The court’s ruling allows the march to proceed along a route from Bagnolet to Charenton, rather than the original plan to travel from Bastille to Nation. After a night of deliberation, the Conseil d’État approved the prefect of police’s decree on Saturday, 31 October. The decision gives the Paris police prefecture the authority to organize the march, which is part of the city’s third weekend of demonstrations against the high cost of living.
