Man Sentenced to 12 Years for Role in Triple Murders, May Be Released Soon

A 28-year-old man, Joshua Janet, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in the abduction and murder of three family members, including a baby girl. Although he pleaded guilty to serious charges, including three counts of murder, his sentence has been reduced significantly due to time already served. Janet, who spent nearly 11 years awaiting trial, may be released in just over a year. The incident occurred in October 2014, when the victims went missing from their home in Brasso Seco. Their bodies were later discovered in a forested area, leading to Janet’s arrest. The judge acknowledged his remorse and rehabilitation efforts but imposed a sentence that many deem lenient given the heinous nature of the crimes. His co-accused, Azmon Alexander, faces more charges and is awaiting trial.
