In the early hours of Saturday, a San Fernando man lost his life in a tragic accident on the Solomon Hochoy Highway. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Arvin Williams of St Joseph Village, was driving at a high speed along the highway near the Corinth flyover when his vehicle veered off a bridge and plunged into a river. Police discovered the overturned red Nissan Frontier on the river bank, about 30 feet below the road level. The Mon Repos Fire Station officers had to use a hydraulic tool to recover Williams from the wreckage. The body was examined by a district medical officer and removed to the mortuary of the San Fernando General Hospital for a post-mortem. The Ste Madeleine Police Station officers are continuing the investigations.
