El Cajon police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on East [Street] in El Cajon. According to the police, an unidentified male pedestrian was lying on the roadway when a vehicle struck him. The impact caused fatal injuries, and the man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Heartland Fire responded to the emergency call alongside police officers. The incident is currently under investigation.
