Man Faces Larceny Charge for Stealing $9,000 Chain in Daylight Robbery

Charges of larceny are expected to be laid on a man who allegedly stole a gold chain valued at $9,000. The incident occurred around 2:00 pm on Thursday on High Street, San Fernando. According to reports, the victim had just exited a local hospital, nursing stitches when the crime happened. The theft of the chain from his neck led to the bursting of his stitches and subsequent profuse bleeding.

A licensed firearm holder who was nearby at the time of the incident sprang into action, pursuing and apprehending the suspect. He managed to recover the stolen chain, ensuring that it wasn’t lost in the aftermath of the crime.

The suspect was then restrained until the arrival of police officers. The quick action by the licensed firearm holder not only secured the valuable chain but also ensured the suspect was unable to escape before law enforcement could arrive. This incident has raised concerns about safety in the area, highlighting the need for increased vigilance among residents.
