Man Disappears After Reporting Extortion, Police Launch Investigation

Simon Joash Bhagwath, a 36-year-old taxi driver residing at 119 Corosol Road, has mysteriously disappeared. Bhagwath was last seen on Wednesday, 20th May, 2026, shortly after reporting to the police that he was being extorted. His initial report was made on Sunday, 17th May, and he returned to the station a few days later to provide a full statement. After leaving the station, Bhagwath went out to ply his taxi but failed to return home. Both Bhagwath and his vehicle—a white AD Wagon, registered as PDR 2070—have since vanished, amplifying concerns over his safety. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance continue to baffle investigators, as they intensify efforts to locate him.
