In a shocking incident, a man was found bound and fatally injured inside his home in Wallerfield in the early hours of Wednesday, April 8th, 2026. The victim has been identified as Beno Hogan, a resident of the corner of Tractor Pool Road and Block 3 Road, Arima. Police responded promptly to a call at around 12:40 a.m. after residents reported hearing loud explosions in the area.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a small wooden house with its door open. Inside, Hogan was found lying on the floor, his hands bound and with severe head injuries. A pool of blood had gathered around him, painting a chilling picture of the brutal act.
Eyewitness accounts from residents suggest that they heard two loud explosive sounds, followed by the roar of a vehicle engine speeding away from the scene. This has led investigators to believe that the perpetrators may have used a vehicle to escape.
A District Medical Officer was called to the scene, who officially pronounced Hogan dead. Crime scene investigators later processed the area but found no spent shells, projectiles, or other items of potential evidential value. As a result, the police investigation continues as they aim to uncover the motive behind this horrifying act and identify those responsible.
