A 33-year-old man from Clarke Road in Penal was the victim of an armed robbery and assault late Saturday night. The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on April 11, 2026, while the man was walking along Rampersad Trace near a bridge. He was approached by two men who announced a hold-up, leading to a violent encounter.
The suspects were described as follows: one was of East Indian descent, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build, and wore a yellow bandana covering his face. He was armed with a firearm. The second suspect, who was Spanish-speaking, stood about 5 feet 5 inches tall, had brown skin, and also had his face covered with a black bandana.
During the robbery, the victim was beaten and lost $175 in cash along with several personal items. These included a black Samsung A05 mobile phone, a pair of gold earrings valued at $600, and a pair of steel-toe boots worth $700. In total, the stolen items are valued at approximately $1,475.
After the attack, the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. Police investigations are currently ongoing, with WPC Noriega leading the efforts to apprehend the assailants.
