Man Alleges $50 Daily Pay To Clean Up Corporation Rubbish

A man seen collecting rubbish on the streets has alleged that a man in the corporation pays him $50 a day for the work.
In a video circulating online, the man is seen speaking to another individual while pushing a shopping cart containing bottles and other discarded material he appeared to have collected.
During the conversation, he referred to the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation and alleged that someone associated with the Corporation pays him $50 a day to carry out the clean-up work.
Pointing to rubbish in the area, the man questioned the amount he said he was being paid for the work required.
He also claimed that other people who had previously been carrying out the work, including Spanish-speaking individuals, had quit.
The San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation lists environmental sanitation, scavenging and litter prevention among the functions of its Public Health Department.

However, the video does not establish that the man is an employee of the Corporation, who allegedly pays him, or the nature of any arrangement under which he carries out the work.
TG News has not independently verified his claim that he receives $50 a day or established any employment or contractual relationship between the man and the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation.
