The Republic of Maldives and the State of Eritrea have formally established diplomatic relations. The Joint Communiqué formalising ties was signed today at the United Nations by Her Excellency Thilmeeza Hussain, Permanent Representative of Maldives, on behalf of the Maldivian government.
