‘Malawi unquestionably needs more infrastructure to convert endless possibilities into opportunities that will drive economic growth’

Standard Bank Chief Executive Phillip Madinga stated that Malawi requires increased infrastructure investment to transform economic potential into tangible growth. Madinga made these remarks during the Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC) Infrastructure Financing Forum held on Thursday, September 17.

The forum focused on strategies to unlock private capital to accelerate infrastructure development across the country. Madinga noted that while Malawi and the broader African continent face a significant infrastructure gap that hinders development, the necessary capital to address these needs is available.
