The Sierra Leone Police is taking significant steps towards modernization as the Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, announces the commissioning of three key projects this month. These initiatives aim to bolster the operational capabilities of the police force and improve community safety across the nation.
Among the projects set to be launched is the new Masingbi Police Division, which will enhance local law enforcement presence and response times. Additionally, a state-of-the-art forensic laboratory will be established at the Transnational Organised Crime Unit headquarters in Rogbangba, providing advanced resources for crime detection and investigation.
These efforts are part of widespread reforms aimed at transforming the Sierra Leone Police into a modern, efficient, and effective law enforcement agency that meets the growing demands of society and addresses public safety concerns.
