**Guatemala’s Ministry of Agriculture Seeks Q1.3 Billion in Additional Funding for Food Security**
The Guatemalan Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food (MAGA) is currently processing a request for an additional Q1.3 billion to bolster its food assistance programs.
During a recent legislative citation, ministry officials provided an update on the current status of their food reserves. According to the report, MAGA currently holds 340,500 food rations in its warehouses intended for distribution to families experiencing food insecurity.
The ministry is now working to secure the additional funding to expand these efforts. Officials have indicated that the proposed allocation is intended to address ongoing needs related to food security across the country, though specific details regarding the execution plan for these funds remain under review.
