Macqueripe Bay Reopens: Snorkeler Spots Rare Eagle Ray

Macqueripe Bay is officially back open to the public after recent renovations, and the excitement is palpable for local beachgoers. Filmed on a DJI Action 5 Pro, a TikTok user shared their first snorkeling experience at the newly reopened site, capturing both the refreshed beauty of the area and a thrilling encounter with a spotted eagle ray.

The renovations, which included the installation of new railings and a thorough cleanup of the beach, have transformed Macqueripe Bay into a more inviting spot for both residents and tourists. Although the snorkeler reported that visibility was poor on their visit, the discovery of a rarely seen eagle ray made their outing quite special.

In their video, the user encourages others to keep the bay clean and enjoy the marine life it has to offer, highlighting the need for conservation and appreciation of Trinidad’s natural beauty. This reopening symbolizes not only a return to recreational activities but also a chance to reconnect with nature in a responsible way.
