**Mexico Moves Toward a 40‑Hour Workweek, STPS Announces**

The Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) has announced that Mexico is progressing toward a 40‑hour workweek. The announcement was made in the Second Government Report, which highlighted that 13 million workers would benefit from the new arrangement.

In addition to the shift to a 40‑hour week, the report notes that overtime regulations will be strengthened. The changes are part of a broader effort by the Mexican government to improve working conditions and align labor standards with international norms.
