Lula derrota a Flávio Bolsonaro y conquista la Presidencia de Brasil tras una remontada histórica

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won Brazil’s presidential election on Sunday, securing 51.74 % of the vote in the second round against Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, who received 48.26 %. Official results, based on 97.69 % of ballots counted, show a margin of 3.48 percentage points. The victory marks the first time since the end of Brazil’s military dictatorship in 1985 that a candidate who finished second in the first round has gone on to win the runoff. In the initial vote, Bolsonaro led with 47 % of the ballots, a two‑point advantage over Lula, translating into a lead of approximately 2.2 million votes. In the runoff, Lula reversed that outcome, gaining more than four million votes over Bolsonaro. The election, held in Brazil, was closely watched as a test of the country’s democratic resilience. Lula’s win is expected to shape the political landscape for the next four years.
