Lubinets në Shtëpinë e Bardhë: Ukraina dhe Rusia në të njëjtën skenë, Kievi kërkon misione të tjera shpëtimi si ai i Oleshky-t

Ukrainian and Russian officials shared a public stage for the first time since the full‑scale invasion of Ukraine, appearing together at a White House event organized by Melania Trump under the “Fostering the Future Together” initiative. The delegation included Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Education and Science Dmytro Lubinets and his Russian counterpart, Tatyana Moskalkova. During the event, Lubinets called for new child‑rescue missions. “We would like you to continue and find new missions and reduce tensions as much as possible,” he said. “We would like you to bring us more children, not only from Ukrainian territory but also from the Russian Federation.” He added that the meeting represented a “great win” that allowed Ukraine and Russia to sit together and discuss the issue of children. Moskalkova said the meeting aimed to “develop approaches for protecting children.” President Donald Trump remarked that “every child deserves to be returned to his family,” while Melania Trump noted that the Oleshky operation “shows exactly what is possible when we come together.” The Oleshky mission, carried out on 20 October in the occupied Kherson region, evacuated 31 children, including 14 under the age of two and nine with disabilities. The operation was led by Lubinets and volunteer Yulia Klymenko. Ukraine reports that it has returned 1,954 children, while Kyiv claims that almost 20,000 children have been missing since September 2022. Russia disputes these figures. In 2023, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and former presidential adviser Maria Lvova‑Belova.
