Luke Lashley Launches LLW Wines, Bringing Unique Caribbean Flavours to Trinidad and Tobago
Trinidad and Tobago’s growing community of local entrepreneurs has welcomed another exciting addition, as winemaker and creative director Luke Lashley officially launched LLW Wines, a locally developed brand celebrating the rich flavours, traditions and creativity of the Caribbean.
The official launch took place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, under the theme “Taste the Spirit of the Caribbean,” bringing together family, friends, business associates, supporters and invited guests for an occasion celebrating local innovation and entrepreneurship.
Operating under LLW Holdings Ltd, the brand specialises in creating distinctive wines inspired by Caribbean fruits, flowers, herbs and traditional flavours, transforming familiar regional ingredients into unique wine experiences.
Among the varieties highlighted during the launch were Sorrel Spark, Cumber Mint, Jamun and Island Bloom, reflecting the company’s commitment to experimenting with flavours deeply connected to Caribbean culture.
For Lashley, who serves as the company’s founder, winemaker and creative director, the occasion represented the achievement of a dream rooted in family inspiration.
According to the entrepreneur, his passion for winemaking dates back to 1998, when his grandmother, Elma Henry, helped inspire the journey that would eventually lead to the creation of LLW Wines.
Reflecting on the launch, Lashley described the milestone as an emotional and rewarding experience.
“Yesterday was more than the official launch of LLW Wines; it was a moment of gratitude, reflection and celebration. What started as an inspiration and a passion for winemaking has grown into a vision that I am proud to share with Trinidad and Tobago and, eventually, the wider world,” he said in a statement issued on November 1.
He added that the overwhelming support from those who attended reinforced his determination to continue developing the brand.
“Seeing so many people come together to support this milestone was truly heartwarming. Every encouraging word, every smile, every purchase and every expression of support reminded me why I started this journey. This is only the beginning.”
The event also highlighted the potential for locally developed products to contribute to Trinidad and Tobago’s agro-processing and creative industries.
By incorporating traditional Caribbean ingredients into contemporary winemaking, LLW Wines hopes to showcase the region’s cultural identity while opening doors for future business opportunities.
Lashley expressed gratitude to those who helped make the launch possible, including Alliance Française Trinidad and Tobago, which provided the venue, along with individuals and businesses that assisted with preparations, branding, hospitality and event coordination.
He also thanked supporters who were unable to attend but shared messages of encouragement and congratulations.
Looking ahead, LLW Wines intends to strengthen its presence in the Trinidad and Tobago market, establish strategic partnerships and explore opportunities for regional and international distribution.
The brand’s philosophy, “Rooted in Caribbean Culture. Crafted for the World,” reflects Lashley’s ambition to take locally inspired products beyond Trinidad and Tobago while maintaining a strong connection to Caribbean heritage.
With its official launch completed, LLW Wines now begins its next chapter, hoping to demonstrate that Caribbean creativity, traditional ingredients and entrepreneurial determination can produce products capable of gaining recognition on the international stage.
For Lashley, a journey inspired by his grandmother nearly three decades ago has now blossomed into a brand with ambitions far beyond the shores of Trinidad and Tobago.
