Libya’s Airports Authority reported yesterday that a meeting was held at its Tripoli headquarters to discuss the status of Ghadames Airport and how to improve services in preparation for reopening it. The Authority said this comes as part of its ongoing efforts to develop airports and enhance their services. The meeting brought together the Head of the Airports Authority and his deputy with a delegation from Ghadames Airport, led by Airport Director Abdelbaset Ahmed Houman. Several directors of relevant departments within the Authority attended the meeting, during which the status of Ghadames Airport was reviewed, and key service priorities and operational matters requiring follow-up were discussed. The Ghadames Airport Director was accompanied on this visit by several office and department managers. The meeting comes on the back of more unconfirmed social media reports – part of an ongoing series of reports over the last few years – that the Libyan-Algeria Debdeb land border crossing is being prepared for reopening.
