Laventille Man Gunned Down in Suspected Gang Violence

On Friday night, a 50-year-old man from Laventille was tragically gunned down in what law enforcement suspect to be a gang-related incident. The victim, identified as Clinton Simmons, also known by the alias ‘Bunty’, resided in Mc Shine Lands, Laventille. Late into the night, police officers from the Port of Spain Gang and Intelligence Unit responded to a report of a motionless body near Desperadoes Pan Yard on Laventille Road. Arriving at the scene, they were directed by an 18-year-old witness to the lifeless body of Simmons, found at a local residence. He had sustained visible gunshot wounds and was declared dead on site by a District Medical Officer.
