Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial in Manhattan has reached a critical stage. Jurors have returned partial verdicts, convicting him on charges linked to prostitution, but they remain deadlocked on the most serious count—racketeering conspiracy. Deliberations continued through the July 4 holiday.
Judge Arun Subramanian denied Combs bail, citing his history of domestic violence and his substantial financial resources as a flight risk. Although he avoided the most severe charges, Combs still faces up to 10 years in prison for the prostitution-related convictions.
He was cleared of racketeering and sex trafficking charges, which could have carried life sentences, but remains in custody pending sentencing. Legal experts had previously noted that securing a sex trafficking conviction was unlikely due to the difficulty in proving coercion.
Meanwhile, a new lawsuit filed in Los Angeles accuses Combs and his son, Justin, of involvement in a 2017 gang-rape incident. The lawsuit claims the woman was lured under false pretenses and drugged. The Combs family denies all allegations.
