Lapin Kansa: Kemistä saa ostettua asunnon pilkkahintaan

Kemi, Finland – Housing prices in the northern town of Kemi have fallen sharply, with the cheapest apartment available for just €2,200. According to a local real‑estate agent, Raimo Pohjainen, there are 24 apartments listed for less than €10,000. The steep decline is attributed to a combination of population loss and an oversupply of homes. Pohjainen notes that well‑maintained properties can still be found at bargain prices, especially in the former industrial districts of Rytikarin and Hepola, where sales typically occur around the €10,000 mark. While the market for apartments is cooling, demand for newer detached houses remains strong. Prices for such homes have risen to over €300,000 in recent months. The information was reported by Lapin Kansa.
