The annual lantern procession on the Meuse River in Roermond saw record-breaking participation on Saturday evening. More than 250 illuminated boats and sloops took part in the event, marking the official conclusion of the boating season on the local waterways.
Organizers reported that this year’s turnout was the largest in the history of the event. The procession featured a wide variety of vessels decorated with lights, creating a display along the river as participants celebrated the end of the season.
