At a special ceremony, NYC Council Member Rita Joseph presented the Jamaican-born star with an official proclamation, praising her as “a trailblazer whose sound is as authentic as it is electrifying.”
The honour comes as Lady Lava continues to carve her place on the global stage, having earned nods from industry heavyweights including Cardi B and Vybz Kartel.
Sharing her gratitude online, Lava wrote:
“To be rewarded for my musical contributions is heartwarming… Big up my team, my family, my country.”
The recognition is not just a personal achievement but a proud Caribbean moment shining brightly in New York City, reflecting the region’s growing influence on the international music scene.
