Kyarisiima Israel has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Esports Federation. He officially assumed the role on September 14, 2026, tasked with leading the organization as it seeks to formalize the country’s digital sports sector.
The appointment places Kyarisiima at the head of an industry that encompasses professional gaming, content creation, broadcasting, and event management. As CEO, he aims to transition esports in Uganda from a recreational activity into a professionalized field that offers economic and sporting opportunities for the nation’s youth.
Regarding his new position, Kyarisiima stated that he feels honored and recognizes the significant responsibility of the role. He emphasized that his primary focus will be on establishing robust organizational structures, identifying and developing local talent, and integrating the Ugandan esports community into the broader African and global markets.
Kyarisiima acknowledged that the sector presents a learning curve, but he expressed enthusiasm for the challenge of building a sustainable ecosystem. He noted that his performance will ultimately be measured by the tangible progress and infrastructure the Federation is able to establish during his tenure.
