Komisioni grek i Konkurrencës miraton kontrollin e përbashkët të Korres nga Halcyon dhe Herbarium

The Hellenic Competition Commission has officially approved the joint acquisition of the Greek cosmetics company Korres by Halcyon Equity Partners S.C.A. SICAR and Herbarium Holding Limited. The decision, issued unanimously on November 6, 2026, under file number 926/2026, authorizes the transaction initially announced in September. The regulatory approval follows a review conducted under Article 8, paragraph 3, of Law 3959/2011 regarding the protection of free competition. According to the Commission, the transaction involves the production and distribution of premium cosmetic products, primarily sold through selective distribution networks such as physical and online pharmacies across Greece. In its assessment, the Commission concluded that the concentration does not result in horizontal market overlaps or vertical links between the parties’ business activities. Consequently, the authority determined that the acquisition is unlikely to negatively impact competition in the relevant markets and approved the deal without conditions. The agreement, which was submitted to the Competition Commission on September 15, 2026, involves Herbarium Holding Limited, an investment vehicle associated with the company’s founder, Giorgos Korres. While the regulatory process has concluded, the financial terms of the transaction and the post-acquisition shareholding structure have not been disclosed. Korres, formally known as Korres S.A. – Natural Products, was established in 1996 by pharmacist Giorgos Korres, originating from one of Athens’ oldest homeopathic pharmacies. The brand gained international recognition for its skincare and hair care products formulated with natural Greek ingredients, which are currently distributed in pharmacies and retail outlets globally.
