Former Point Fortin MP Kennedy Richards Jr has issued a strongly worded public statement denying that he ever hired Irvin Felix, entered into a contractual agreement with him or owes him money for video production or other services.
Richards sought to make his position clear, insisting that Felix had approached him with a proposal to produce videos and other content during his time as a Member of Parliament.
According to Richards, Felix requested a specified amount of money for the proposed work, but he informed him that the figure was beyond what he could afford.
Richards maintained that the discussion never resulted in an agreement.
He stated that no verbal or written contract was established and that he had never requested or engaged Felix to perform work on his behalf.
The former MP also rejected any suggestion that he had borrowed money from Felix.
“I categorically state that I do not owe Mr. Irvin Felix any monies whatsoever,” Richards declared.
Signalling that the dispute could move beyond public statements, Richards said he would make no further public comment because the matter would be addressed through the appropriate legal channels.
He also invoked the legal principle that the person making an allegation bears the responsibility of proving it.
Richards said he remained prepared to have the matter determined before a court of law.
The statement presents Richards’ account of the disagreement. Felix’s version of events was not included in the material provided, and the existence of any financial obligation has not been independently established.
For now, Richards has made his position unmistakable: he denies hiring Felix, denies owing him money and says he is prepared to defend his position in court
