Kees says Lady Lava delivered one of the most memorable moments of a Kes show after travelling directly from the airport and rushing onto the stage.
According to Kees, Lady Lava had originally been scheduled to appear during an earlier section of the performance but was delayed while going through immigration at JFK Airport.
The band then had to determine whether she could be inserted later in the set.
Kees recalled receiving word during the show that she was approximately 10 minutes away.
He said Lady Lava arrived with virtually no time to settle, walking across equipment and wires before launching directly into her performance.
Kees described the reaction inside the venue as explosive, saying the performance left members of the band stunned while fans passionately sang along.
He said he enjoyed being able to step back from his role as performer and experience the moment as a fan himself.
