Kaolack – A 76‑year‑old man was found dead in a state of decomposition at his home in the Cité Kébé neighbourhood of Kaolack on Wednesday, 28 October 2026. The body, identified as A. Cissé, lay on his back in the living room of a house whose door was locked from the inside. The discovery was reported at about 20:00 by C. Dia, a commercial agent, to the central police station in Kaolack. Police officers arriving on the scene confirmed the deceased’s identity and noted that the man had been living alone for several years. After the police secured the premises, the hygiene service disinfected the house. Firefighters then transported the body to the morgue at the Centre hospitalier régional El Hadji Ibrahima Niass. A medical‑legal requisition was sent to the hospital director to determine the exact circumstances of the death. Prosecutor Abass Yaya Wane has ordered an investigation into the case. The inquiry will seek to clarify the events leading to the discovery and establish the cause of death.
