Kalonji Questions Why He Is Being Portrayed As The Villain

Trinidad and Tobago artiste Kalonji has responded to online criticism surrounding an ongoing dispute involving fellow entertainer Plumpy Boss, saying he believes he is being unfairly portrayed as the villain. In a video circulating on social media, Kalonji expressed frustration over what he described as people selectively choosing which parts of past events they want to remember. “People have a way of picking and choosing,” he said, questioning why public discussion surrounding the situation appeared to be turning against him. Kalonji referred to an earlier situation involving Plumpy Boss, claiming that at the time he was among those who did not respond negatively and had instead expressed a more positive outlook. He suggested that his position came from recognising what he described as a particular “vision” or potential in Plumpy Boss, despite opinions being expressed by others at the time. Kalonji said he now finds it unfair that he is being cast in a negative light as tensions and public discussion surrounding the artistes continue. “For some reason, they’re trying to make me the villain in this situation. I don’t understand why,” he said. His comments have prompted further discussion online, with supporters pointing to previous posts and statements which they say showed Kalonji expressing concern for Plumpy Boss.
