Juneau health grants fund senior hub plan, childcare project

The City and Borough of Juneau has been awarded a series of federal grants aimed at bolstering local healthcare, childcare, and infrastructure, marking the conclusion of Alaska’s first-year project selection process under a federal funding program. Among the allocations is approximately $215,000 designated for a childcare initiative intended to serve employees of Bartlett Regional Hospital. Additionally, $109,500 has been granted to establish a regional cancer support network. The city will also receive $3.6 million to support early planning efforts for the redevelopment of the historic St. Ann’s Center. These projects are part of a broader effort to address community needs through federal investment, with Thursday’s announcement finalizing the state’s initial round of project selections.
