June 2025 Sees Small Rise in Inflation and Food Prices, Reports CSO

In June 2025, the Central Statistical Office (CSO) reported a slight rise in inflation and food prices, with the inflation rate reaching 1.5%, up from 1.4% in May 2025. This marks a significant increase from 0.7% in June 2024. The All Items Index for June 2025 stood at 125.6, reflecting a 0.2% increase from the previous month. Notably, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.4%, driven by higher costs for items like tomatoes, chickens, and oranges. Despite these increases, the impact was somewhat mitigated by price drops in other categories such as garlic and plantains. Clothing and footwear saw a minor decrease of 0.1%, while other sectors remained stable. This report highlights ongoing economic trends affecting consumer prices, as the CSO continues to track inflation closely.
