Judge Urges National Unity and Integrity in Leadership

High Court Judge Frank Seepersad has issued a call for renewed national unity, principled leadership, and moral responsibility as Trinidad and Tobago continues to grapple with mounting social and economic pressures.

Delivering the feature address at the 152nd anniversary service of the Mizpah Presbyterian Church in Claxton Bay on Sunday, Seepersad said the country must critically examine the quality of those who hold positions of authority.

“As a country and as a church, we need to evaluate our leaders, and we must support those men and women who lead with integrity,” he told the congregation. “Those who, guided by God, are prepared to take bold steps and effect difficult decisions so as to ensure that we—whether as a church, community, or a country—remain on a purposeful path of praise, peace, productivity, and prosperity.”

Seepersad underscored the importance of moral renewal, community engagement, and shared responsibility in national development, stating that progress requires citizens and institutions to commit to ethical behaviour and collective well-being.

The judge’s remarks come amid ongoing public debate about governance, accountability, and the need for stronger societal values.
