José Fernandes brilha na Torre e sobe ao pódio da geral

José Fernandes Shines in Torre and Climbs to General Podium

José Fernandes, a cyclist for Gi Group Holding-Simoldes-UDO, finished in 5th place in the 4th stage of the Volta a Portugal, which connected Figueiró dos Vinhos to Torre in the Serra da Estrela, covering a total distance of 154.6 km.

Currently, Fernandes, who represents the Oliveira de Azeméis club, is the top-ranked Portuguese cyclist in the individual general classification, holding 3rd place. His team, Oliveirense, has also moved up to 3rd place in the team classification.

The next stage of the competition is scheduled to take place on Monday, featuring a 17.4 km individual time trial between Anadia and Águeda. With this upcoming stage, Fernandes will look to maintain his position as the top Portuguese cyclist in the general classification.
