**JioHotstar Expands to the United Kingdom, Canada and Singapore**
*New Delhi, India – 2 September 2026* – Indian streaming service JioHotstar announced the launch of its over‑the‑top (OTT) platform in three new international markets: the United Kingdom, Canada and Singapore.
According to a report by *Variety*, the newly released JioHotstar app will provide users with more than 160,000 hours of entertainment content in over 12 Asian languages. The service will feature interactive elements, personalized recommendations and a range of subscription options designed to enhance real‑time engagement.
The rollout replaces the previous Hotstar brand that was available in these territories. JioHotstar’s launch includes a redesigned discovery and viewing experience that the company says is built around personalization and live interaction.
In addition to the existing library, JioHotstar will debut a slate of original programming, including titles such as **“Ali Baba Aur Chaalis Bhoot,” “Prince of Mollywood,” “Part Timers”** and **“The Court.”** The platform also plans to stream blockbuster movie premieres throughout the year.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament and other cricket competitions for which JioHotstar holds Indian broadcasting rights are not part of the initial launch package, *Variety* reported.
The reality‑television franchise **“Bigg Boss”** will return in six languages, and, for the first time, viewers in the United Kingdom, Canada and Singapore will be able to cast live votes during each edition. Canadian and UK audiences will also receive a 24‑hour live feed, while Canadian subscribers will have the option to watch **“Bigg Boss Hindi”** seven days ahead of its television broadcast.
The company described the launch as a move beyond a simple catalog expansion, aiming to provide a “redesigned discovery and viewing experience built around personalization and real‑time engagement” for the new markets.
